Total E&P Chine and PetroChina for South Sulige project, China. (since 2011)

The South Sulige block, spanning 2,392 square kilometers, is a “tight gas” field with gas trapped within reservoirs featuring low porosity and permeability. The gas reserves are therefore more challenging to access in a costeffective manner. In 2006, Total and CNPC signed a thirty-year Production Sharing Contract (PSC) for the evaluation, development and production of natural gas in the block. In the same year the wholly-owned subsidiary Total E&P Chine (TEPC) was established to work on the South Sulige block.
