Reports in local Chinese media say that PetroChina and France’s Total are likely to start producing gas from Sulige South field in northern China next month. Full potential of the filed will be achieved in three years. Output from the field is seen reaching 3 billion cubic meters a year by 2015, reports said.
The two companies signed a 30-year production-sharing contract in 2006 for the evaluation, development and production of
the Sulige South gas block that covers 2,390 square kilometres. CNPC, the parent company of PetroChina holds 51% and Total 49%.
